I had the great honour of welcoming Dr. Muhammad Akram Virk, a renowned religious scholar, educationist, and respected peacemaker, and Principal of Government Islamia Graduate College, Gujranwala, during a warm and memorable visit. His presence was not merely a courtesy call; it was a meaningful meeting of minds and hearts, united by a shared commitment to promoting religious tolerance, interfaith harmony, peace, and brotherhood in Gujranwala.
Dr. Muhammad Akram Virk graciously visited me to extend his heartfelt congratulations on my appointment as Principal. His gesture of goodwill and affection touched me deeply. For me, his visit carried a significance far beyond a formal congratulatory meeting. I consider his friendship, respect, and companionship in the cause of peace and harmony a great honour and a source of encouragement.
There was also a beautiful and memorable moment during the meeting. Dr. Muhammad Akram Virk had brought flowers for me as a gesture of congratulations and affection. However, in an expression of my own deep respect and admiration for him, I humbly presented those very flowers back to him. In a way, I felt that the love and respect he had brought for me deserved to be returned to the person who has himself become a symbol of knowledge, tolerance, and peace. The flowers changed hands, but the message of love, respect, and brotherhood became even stronger.
The meeting was further honoured by the presence of Mr. Muhammad Makhdoom Siddiqui, Chairman, The Punjab College for Sciences Group, whose presence added distinction and warmth to this memorable occasion. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity to reaffirm our shared vision of using education and dialogue as powerful instruments for building a peaceful, tolerant, and harmonious society.
