A meeting with Commissioner Gujranwala Division
On the 18th of September, 2025, Mr. Shahzad Lawrence — a respected lecturer, peace advocate, and active member of the District Peace Committee, Gujranwala — paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed Commissioner of Gujranwala and Gujrat Division, Mr. Naveed Haider Sherazi, at his official office. The visit was held in a spirit of appreciation, goodwill, and mutual commitment to public service.
Mr. Lawrence extended heartfelt congratulations to Commissioner Sherazi on two significant accomplishments. Firstly, he commended the successful inauguration of the much-anticipated Electric Buses project, a pioneering initiative by the Punjab Government aimed at easing transportation for the general public while promoting environmentally friendly travel. Secondly, he celebrated Mr. Sherazi’s recent and well-deserved promotion to Grade 21, a recognition of his dedicated service and visionary leadership.
The electric bus service, inaugurated under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Worthy Mariam Nawaz Sharif. Whereas many Political and social workers were present to witness this event. The buses will operate on a vital route connecting Wazirabad to Kamoki, ensuring clean, efficient, and affordable mobility for thousands of commuters daily. The initiative is especially impactful for women, children, students, and the elderly — segments of the population that often face challenges in accessing safe and reliable transportation.
During the meeting, Mr. Lawrence highlighted the broader social benefits of the project.
