Mr. Shahzad Lawrence along with Pastor Arif Siraj presented this shield to Mr.
Ahmad at his office.
The administration ensured secure arrangements in Tehsil Nosheran Virkan,
Wazirabad, Sadar, and City under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz,
Worthy Naveed Ahmad Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala conducted several
meetings with concerned departments during 1 st week of December 2024 to
ensure the best arrangements for the Christian community. The Model Christmas
Bazar was established in Tehsil Nosheran Virkan and People Colony Gujranwala
Tehsil City and food items with special subsidy were displayed for deserving
people.

Moreover, the Water and Sanitation department was directed for proper
cleanliness around churches and worship places and removal of Garbage
containers, and an anti-encroachment campaign was initiated.
In addition, Mr. Ahmad directed the heads of Rescue 1122 and Fire brigade
departments to ensure the safety and security of the Christian community during
the Christmas and New Year celebrations in Gujranwala. Rescue 1122 and Fire
Brigade vehicles were stationed at major churches during Christmas and New
Year prayer services. Their presence played a crucial role in preventing any
unforeseen incidents and providing immediate emergency response if needed.
This proactive measure showcased the administration's commitment to public
safety.
Furthermore, the coordinated efforts of the emergency services contributed to a
peaceful and joyous celebration, allowing worshippers to gather and celebrate
with confidence and peace of mind.
Mr. Naveed Ahmad, along with police officials, visited various churches in
Gujranwala during the Christmas celebrations, sharing in the joy and festive spirit
of the Christian community. As a gesture of goodwill and solidarity, they cut
Christmas cakes and actively participated in the celebrations.
This warm interaction strengthened trust between law enforcement and the
Christian community, highlighting the values of peace, respect, and unity among
different faiths.
