The Jaranwala incident is painful and regrettable, this incident is an outcome of weak and biased thinking. Society cannot afford such measures. The promotion of interfaith harmony will have to promote acceptance and respect for thephilosophy of religions.
Muhammad Rizwan Tariq Superintendent of Police, Civil Lines, and Shahzad Lawrence Member of the District Peace Committee visited Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Francisabad the largest Christian Town in Gujranwala here on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Mr. Rizwan Tariq expressed his condolences to the parish priest and the community as well. During his speech, he described the security measures taken by the police for churches and properties. It is worth mentioning that after the tragedy of Jaranwala, different visits are being made to show solidarity with the Christians.
On this occasion, a candle-lighting ceremony was also organized to express solidarity with the victims of the Jaranwala tragedy.
Reverend Father Shakeel invited Rizwan Tariq, and Shahzad Lawrance to lit the candle to show solidaritywith the affected families.
It is the duty of the Muslim scholars to enlighten their people with the Islamic teachings, and the Prophet’s life so that the common people know how their Prophet Muhammad treated the Christians.
