Effective communication and positive attitudes between Muslim Christian leaders and stakeholders improve the atmosphere of interfaith harmony. There is a need to elect positive-thinking representatives so that unity and oneness can be created among people of different religions.

Today 16.11.2023 District Interfaith Harmony Committee meeting was held at Committee Room DC Office Gujranwala at 12 noon in which leaders of different religions and social representatives participated.

The meeting was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Shabbir Hussain Butt, while District Police Officer DSP Gul Nawaz and officers from other departments also participated. The meeting started with a recitation of the Holy Quran. Shabir Hussain Butt gave the recitation.

ADCG Shabbir Hussain Butt told the participants in the opening sentences that according to the Constitution of Pakistan, all citizens are equal and religious minorities have full freedom. He said that the observance of the Constitution of Pakistan and the law is mandatory for every citizen and in order to prevent the incidents of religious extremism, there is an urgent need for the religious leaders to enlighten their followers with the teachings of the religion.

He further said that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the rights of religious minorities and there is a need for minorities to pay attention to their rights as well as their duties and religious leaders to generalize the culture of religious harmony and tolerance in the society. The role is very important.

I mentioned there was a Muslim-Christian dispute in Aziz Colony in 2011 at Gujranwala. Which was successfully solved with the help of district administration and police along with Muslim-Christian coordination. Similarly, due to effective coordination among Muslim Christian leaders, many religious disputes have been resolved peacefully over the years, due to which the atmosphere of interfaith harmony in Gujranwala city is ideal. Credit goes to Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Ahmed Mohal and DIG City Police Officer Rana Muhammad Ayaz Saleem.
