Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi emphasized harmony and dialogue among religions for peace

Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi chaired a meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office, Gujranwala, in connection with Muharram Ul Haram 2025. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi appreciated the voluntary services of Christian members of the Peace and religious harmony, interfaith dialogue in Gujranwala.


Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has stated that “Muharram is a month dedicated to promoting peace and brotherhood, and no one will be allowed to spread chaos or disrupt peace during this holy month. H added that the religion of Islam teaches respect and honor for other religions. We must respect one another, and we will not allow the enemy's evil intentions to succeed under any circumstances.”


He expressed these views while addressing the meeting at the Commissioner’s Office, Gujranwala. Mr. Naveed Haider Sherazi, Commissioner Gujranwala, DIG Mr. Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, Regional Police Officer, Mr. Naveed Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner, DIG Mr. Ayaz Saleem, City Police Officer, members of Divisional Peace Committee, representatives of Pakistan Ulma Council attended the meeting.

Scholars are rendering valuable services in promoting religious harmony, patience, brotherhood, and peace, and Interfaith harmony and Dialogue in Gujranwala, he added. The Chairman of the Pakistan Ulma Council appreciated their efforts, expecting that such an exemplary demonstration of religious tolerance and brotherhood would be seen in Muharram as well.
