A program in connection with Christmas celebrations was organized at a combined church in which Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Haider Shirazi participated as the chief guest.

Mr. Naveed Haider Sherazi the Commissioner of Gujranwala Division paid his visit to a village here on 14.12.2023 (today) and participated in the Christmas program held at United Christ Church as chief guest. 

Notably, for the first time in history, A commissioner participated in the ceremony organized in a remote area. It was a unique gesture of love and care for marginalized communities. The people from the surroundings came to attend this ceremony with religious zeal and enthusiasm. The community was delighted to see their beloved commissioner among them. Mr. Naveed Haider Sherazi was warmly welcomed by the community leaders.

As soon as he entered the church compound, he was garlanded with flowers while little girls showered him with flower petals. Mr. Shahzad Lawrence, a member of the District Peace/Interfaith Harmony Community welcomed him in the church and presented him with a bunch of flowers. Later on during their talks Pastor Afzal, Mr. Zeeshan, and Hafiz Shahzad Rafique (Journalists) welcomed Mr. Naveed Haider Sherazi. Likewise, Mr. Shahzad Lawrence highlighted the initiatives taken by Worthy Commissioner Gujranwala for the promotion of interfaith dialogue and religious harmony in Gujranwala. In addition, he points out some productive steps that will enhance the possibilities of the best outcome. Moreover, Mr. Shahzad Lawrence paid tribute to Mr. Naveed Haider Sherazi for providing foolproof security measures to Churches and their belongings. In his speech, Mr. Naveed Haider Sherazi appreciated the productive and positive role of Christians in different walks of life.

Mr. Naveed Haider Shirazi said that the Punjab government is sharing in the happiness of Christians. All arrangements for Christmas and New Year have been completed.

He made important announcements that will lessen the problems of the local community like the upgradation of roads, sewerage system, etc.
