The services of the first Advent in the churches were performed with traditional religious enthusiastic manners. In this regard, A prayer service was observed by Rev. Father Yousaf Yaqoob at ST. Francis Xavier Parish Gujranwala. Professor Shehzad Lawrence a member of the District Peace / Interfaith Harmony Committee lit the candle on the occasion of the 1^st Advent on the Third day of December, 2023. Christian representatives from different areas of Gujranwala and others were also present on this occasion. The color of the first candle of hope is purple which means a sign of hope. Christians also celebrated the feast day of St. Francis Xavier, who spread Christianity in the subcontinent after ST. Thomas. On this occasion, Father Yousaf Yaqoob cut the cake along with representatives of the Sisters, Choir, and Rosary Group. On this occasion, special prayers were offered for peace, unity, brotherhood, and security of the forces in Pakistan.
