I had the privilege of attending the Divisional Seerat-ul-Nabi ﷺ Conference, organized by theAuqaf & Religious Affairs Department, Government of Punjab, at 10:00 a.m. at Jimkhana, Gujranwala. I was honoured to be invited by Zonal Administrator Auqaf Rana Muhammad Afzal and Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooqi, Zonal Khateeb Auqaf, Gujranwala.

The conference was chaired by Mr. Ch. Ehsan Bhutta, Secretary Auqaf, Punjab, and was attended by Maulana Intab Noori, Chairman Muttahida Ulama Board, Punjab; Commissioner Gujranwala Muhammad Ali; Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Ahmed; CPO Gujranwala Dr. Sardar Ghias Gul Khan, along with prominent religious scholars, leaders and representatives from different walks of life.

The central theme of the conference, “Building the Character of the Nation in the Light of Seerat-ul-Nabi ﷺ,” was highly meaningful and relevant to the challenges faced by our society today. The speakers emphasized that the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ provide a comprehensive model of honesty, compassion, justice, tolerance, forgiveness, respect for humanity and peaceful coexistence.

In my view, the real message of Seerat-ul-Nabi ﷺ is not limited to speeches and conferences; rather, it should be reflected in our personal conduct, social relationships and public institutions. Character-building, respect for others, service to humanity and promotion of peace are essential for the progress of any nation. The teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ offer valuable guidance for developing a society based on mutual respect, justice and harmony.

Later, at 12:30 p.m., I joined a meeting at the Commissioner Office, Gujranwala, with the same senior administrative, police and religious leadership. The meeting was held in connection with the preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ. Through a video link, all Deputy Commissioners, District Police Officers and religious leaders participated and discussed arrangements for the peaceful and smooth observance of the occasion.

I was particularly encouraged by the spirit of peace, interfaith harmony and mutual respect expressed by representatives of different schools of thought. The participation of religious scholars and administrative and law-enforcement authorities demonstrated a collective commitment to maintaining peace and promoting harmony during the sacred occasion.

As a member of the peace and interfaith harmony community, I believe that such platforms provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation between religious leaders, civil administration, police and community representatives. Seerat-ul-Nabi ﷺ teaches us to build bridges rather than walls and to promote compassion, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

I appreciate the Auqaf & Religious Affairs Department, Government of Punjab, the district administration, police leadership and all religious scholars for bringing together diverse stakeholders on one platform. I hope that the preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ will continue in the same spirit of cooperation and that the celebrations will convey a strong message of peace, unity, respect and harmony throughout Gujranwala and Punjab.

May the blessed teachings of Seerat-ul-Nabi ﷺ inspire us to become better human beings and contribute positively to a peaceful, tolerant and united Pakistan.
