To solve the problems of the Christian community of Gujranwala I along with Father Shakeel Inayat and his catechists visited the offices of Assistant commissioners and informed them about the problems being faced by the Christian people. We drew their concentration toward the bad sewerage system, cleanliness, and lack of basicfacilities.
We met Assistant Commissioner Human Resource and Coordination Mr. Usman Sikandar Hinjara & and discussed community issues. Notably, an application to resolve the problems of Francisabad Gujranwala was presented to the Deputy Commissioner of Gujranwala and Commissioner Gujranwala on 28-29 August respectively..
we visited the office of the District Red Crescent and had a wonderful meeting with District Officer Mr. Bilal who briefed us about the Red Crescent and other projects.
We visited the office of the Assistant Commissioner of City Mr. Safdar Sikandari. I briefed him that In the Christian cemetery, the surrounding people throw garbage. So, prompt action should be taken for cleanliness and elimination of illegal encroachments around worship places.
Father Shakeel Inayat of the Roman Catholic Church, Shahzad Lawrence, a member of the district peace committee and catechists,
met the assistant commissioner of Sadar Division Mian Taseef. Mr. Shahzad Lawrence told him about the Christian cemetery adjacent to the Motorway Link. He added that the Christians in the concerned area are worried about their cemetery land. Commissioner Gujranwala directed the concerned official (Patwari) to reach the spot and report it. However, on contact, Mr. Faisal from the concerned area informed me that Patwari will write and submit a report on coming Monday.
Prof. Shehzad Lawrence, a member of the District Peace Committee of Gujranwala, Reverend Father Shakeel Inayat, Parish Priest, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Francisabad, along with catechists, congratulated Munawar Hussain on his promotion to the post of Deputy Director at the District Information Office and presented a bouquet of flowers.
