We promote respect and equality, and we are striving for the elimination of hate and discrimination based on religion, color or creed.

Education Peace and Development Initiatives Rabata Society organized “The Iftar Party 2024” with the Staff of the City Traffic Police, Gujranwala here on the 22 nd Day of March, 2024. The Iftar party was staged in front of the city Traffic Police office adjacent to the Police Khidmat Center, G.T. Road, Gujranwala.

It is a common observation that the traffic on the roads is more than usual during
the month of Ramadan and the unruly crowd on the roads before Iftar adds to the
traffic problems. These issues were also mentioned in the peace committee
meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala. City Traffic Officer Ayesha
Butt along with her staff continued her duty during Iftar hours for smooth flow of
the traffic. This is the best example of service beyond police duty.

Both Christians and Muslims are fasting in Pakistan. While Christians are
preparing themselves for Palm Sunday and Holy Week, on the other hand, the
Muslim community has also entered the second decade of fasting. Today’s Iftar
brings a common message to the followers of both religions and that message is mutual acceptance, respect, and brotherly love.

Iftar is the main meal of the fasting day, which occurs at sunset every day of Ramadan. The initial breaking of the fast isn’t a huge meal; it’s typically just a date and a glass of water or some other type of drink such as fruit juice or milk.

The purpose of this activity is to promote the idea of sharing a common culture and to promote Respect for Religions among people at the grassroots level. The Iftar party is a practical gesture in order to promote the common teaching of religions. To express solidarity, share common thoughts based on humanity, and use the common and open platform to deliver a message of peace, harmony, acceptance, and tolerance is pivotal.

The idea was initiated to promote religious harmony and brotherhood relationships at the grassroots level. The purpose of Iftar party was to reduce the thought of hatred in the society on the basis of religion, color, caste and creed. Although it was not easy to take such initiative on the Road. However, this initiative was highly welcomed by the participants who have positive thoughts. Number of passersby participated in the Iftar Party and appreciated this productive initiative.
