Meeting with His Excellency Archbishop Benny Mario Travas

Following the Installation Mass of His Excellency Archbishop Khalid Rehmat on 28 March 2026, a meaningful meeting was held with His Excellency Archbishop Benny Mario Travas at the Archdiocese of Lahore. The discussion focused on strengthening interfaith harmony, promoting tolerance, and encouraging mutual acceptance among people of different faiths in Pakistan.
Archbishop Benny Mario Travas emphasized that peaceful coexistence can only be achieved through sincere dialogue, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to human dignity. He appreciated the efforts of individuals and organizations working to build bridges between religious communities and encouraged continued collaboration for the promotion of peace and national unity.
Before our meeting at the Archdiocese of Lahore, I had the privilege of meeting His Grace Archbishop Benny Mario Travas for the first time at Saint Francis Xavier Parish, Gujranwala, on 14 November 2025. The meeting was a memorable and inspiring occasion that reflected His Grace's humility, wisdom, and pastoral leadership. During our interaction, we briefly discussed the importance of Christian witness, quality education, and building peaceful relationships among people of different faiths. His encouraging words strengthened my commitment to promoting interfaith harmony, tolerance, and community service, while remaining firmly rooted in Christian values and the mission of serving humanity.
The meeting also highlighted the significant role of the Catholic Church in providing quality education and nurturing moral values. It was acknowledged that Catholic educational institutions have made remarkable contributions to the intellectual, ethical, and social development of countless students, regardless of their religious or cultural backgrounds. Archbishop Travas reaffirmed that Catholic faith inspires believers to serve humanity with compassion, justice, and love, following the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue working together for religious harmony, educational excellence, social cohesion, and the promotion of peace, ensuring a brighter and more inclusive future for all communities in Pakistan.
